A Note from the President

Dear Tiger Families,

In just over a week, we will welcome the newest generation of Tigers to campus for our annual Move In Day. But whether your student is eagerly anticipating their very first day on campus or counting down the days until they receive their degree, the entire LSU community stands ready to support them on their journey.

Allow me to give you an idea of the heights our Tigers achieve. This year alone, our students won more than 10 extremely competitive and highly prestigious national academic awards, ranging from Goldwater and Astronaut Scholarships to National Science Foundation Fellowships. They donated nearly 100,000 hours of service to the community, ranging from neighborhood rejuvenation efforts to sprucing up public K-12 schools before the school year starts. They’re conducting research that will save our coastlines and protect our families from disease. In short, they’re changing the world, one Tiger at a time – and it all starts here beneath our stately oaks and arches.

It’s safe to say that last year was one for the record books … and this year is shaping up to be even better. We’re so glad you’re taking this journey with LSU.

Thank you for trusting us with your Tiger.

Sincerely,

F. King Alexander
LSU President

All families are invited to join the Family Association for our annual Banana Split Party! After a long morning of moving your student into their new home and before you "split", here's a chance to cool off, spend some extra time with your student, and enjoy a sweet treat. Complimentary lunch will be provided for parents by the LSU Office of the President in both of our on-campus dining halls. You will also have the opportunity to purchase our LSU Family shirts in both dining halls.
