Metropolitan District Budget Cuts: Entrance Fee for Pools Proposed
At the Nov. 13 Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District Board meeting, the Board discussed proposed changes to the 2019 Budget due to the 6G mill levy failure. The most significant change is a proposed entrance fee for resident pool access. All proposed changes are listed at the link below. The Board will continue the public hearing and adopt the budget at its Dec. 4 meeting at 7 p.m. at the Ranch House following the 6 p.m. Joint Study Session with the Master Association. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting or submit feedback to melissad@kcranch.org.

Trash Delay Thanksgiving DayThis is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that Thanksgiving is an observed holiday. If your normal trash day is Thursday, your trash and recycling service will be Friday this week. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday service will stay on the normal schedule.

Gobble Wobble 5K & Fun Run Thanksgiving Day

“Gobble and Wobble” your way through the 5th Annual 5k and Fun Run in the Valley. This great family run helps raise funds to support special events! Dogs and jogging strollers are welcome. Holiday Pony Rides at the Equestrian CenterSign up for a pony ride at the Ken-Caryl Equestrian Center! The rides are for ages 3 to 100 (you’re never too old for a pony ride), and the cost is $30, payable with cash or check at the time of the ride. This special event will only take place Thursday, Dec. 20 and Friday, Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are required. Christmas Tree SaleDate: Saturday, Dec. 1
Time: 8-10 a.m.
Location: Dakota Lodge
A limited number of trees will be available to Ken-Caryl residents on a first come, first served basis for the annual Christmas Tree Sale. Rangers are requesting donations (cash or check only) in exchange for the trees. The recently cut Douglas Firs and Ponderosa Pines are more "natural" in shape than trees found in Christmas tree lots and remain fresh and fragrant for the season. The removal of the small-diameter trees in the Ken-Caryl open space reduces overcrowding and eliminates ladder fuels, which can carry fire into a forest canopy. International Giving Tuesday at the Ranch House Nov. 27The charitable season kicks off the Tuesday after Thanksgiving with International Giving Tuesday. On Nov. 27 from 3:30-6:30 p.m., the Ken-Caryl community joins in with a “Drive-By Drive” being held at the Ranch House.
