HES Celebrates 100 Years of Expanding Student Opportunities
|
|
NC State’s Department of Health and Exercise Studies is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and that century has seen continuous growth in opportunities for students, including more classes, several minor options and much more.

- DASA employees Katie Birdsall (Wellness and Recreation) and Chuck Thomas (University Housing) are pursuing a master’s education in Poole College of Management’s Master of Management, Marketing Analytics (MMA) program.
- NC State Fraternity and Sorority Life is working with RISE Partnerships (RISE) for an external review as part of DASA’s routine assessment cycle. Over the next two weeks, RISE is hosting focus group sessions to collect input from students, alumni, staff and stakeholders about their experiences and observations.

- Experience dance and music performances at NC State! Tickets for all Department of Performing Arts and Technology fall 2023 concerts are now available for purchase through Ticket Central.
- Due to work associated with the Power Forward Project, the East Tunnel under the railroad tracks (going from Coliseum Deck to SAS Hall) will be closed for approximately one month. Lampe Drive will also be closed until approximately Nov. 10.
- Reminder: First Generation Celebration Week is Nov. 6-10. Students can register here.
- Reminder: October is DASA’s month for the Year of Feeding the Pack Challenge! There are several options to participate.
- Reminder: Flu shots are free and available for NC State staff through appointments at the Campus Health Center, or walk-in clinics across campus until December. See a full schedule for clinics here.
