This month the world lost a giant of industry and philanthropy, and Clemson University lost a friend, with the passing of Ratan Tata, who was 86. He visited the University twice, received its first honorary doctorate in automotive engineering and made it possible for Tata Fellows to pursue their master’s and Ph.D.s at Clemson. We mourn the loss while remembering him with heartfelt gratitude.

Our faculty continue to push the boundaries of innovation, while providing new opportunities for the leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs of the future. Whether it’s pioneering clean-energy solutions, transforming food production systems or creating next-generation advanced materials, their work not only embodies the spirit of progress and collaboration but also inspires our students to dream big.
Our college offers students a wide range of opportunities to engage in hands-on research and real-world projects that have a tangible impact on society, from assessing the environmental benefits of electric vehicles to building homes for those in need. These experiences not only equip our students with critical skills but also empower them to lead, innovate and make a difference in their communities and beyond.
As we reflect on both the challenges and the progress of this semester, there is an opportunity for you to make a lasting difference. Your generosity helps sustain the impactful work of our faculty and provides life-changing opportunities for our students. I encourage you to click the “Make a Gift” tab below and join us in shaping the future together.
