Make Sure You're Fully Boosted
All students who meet the eligibility requirements for a booster shot are required to submit their
COVID boosters on Loyola’s Public Health Portal. Boosters provide increased protection against severe illness and are an important measure to help keep our community safe. You do not need to submit a new exemption if you filed one for the initial vaccine requirement. Public health will reach out to you individually if you are not in compliance with this requirement.
Who is eligible for a booster shot?
- If you are 18+ and received your Moderna vaccination series (both shots) at least five months ago.
- If you are 12+ and received your Pfizer vaccination series (both shots) at least five months ago.
- If you are 18+ and received your Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.
When are you considered fully boosted?
You’re not considered fully boosted until at least
7 days after you receive your booster shot. If you received your booster shot less than 7 days prior to being exposed, then you will be considered "not up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations" and will need to follow the CDC's guidelines for quarantine. Please reach out to
covid@loyno.edu immediately regarding potential exposure.
Do you need to get a booster if you recently had Covid?
Yes, you should get a COVID-19 booster even if you already had COVID-19. You can get your booster once you meet the eligibility requirements above and are cleared from isolation after a positive test result.
