Dear Faculty, Administrators and Staff,
I am happy to share the progress of the Academies Initiative, which was created to encourage cross-departmental and cross-college collaborations that ultimately lead to innovative programs, unique student experiences and new ideas for research.
Based on feedback from previous rounds, we shifted the timeline earlier this year to allow more time for the completion of proposed projects. We were inspired by the range of ideas submitted and are particularly excited to support four proposals that demonstrate interdisciplinarity, hold significant impact (to the institution, students or faculty), are feasible within the timeline, have detailed budgets that align with projected outcomes, and include clear plans for assessing success and next steps.
