Michael Choti, MD, gastrointestinal surgical oncologist and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeon, is the Division Chief of Surgery at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Arizona. He is an expert in the management of patients with liver, neuroendocrine, pancreatic, and other gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Choti's research interests include experimental therapeutics, investigative therapy in gastrointestinal malignancies, molecular genetics related to cancer and cancer biology, clinical research in outcomes, and an interest in surgical innovation, computer-assisted surgery, and robotics in cancer therapy. Dr. Choti’s contributions to medical education, clinical research, medical journal publications, and surgical leadership are extensive and nationally known.
Dr. Choti describes his care philosophy as striving to “deliver the best care possible in a multidisciplinary approach that promotes shared decision-making, empowerment, and compassion with the patient, family, and members of cancer care team.”
Prior to joining the team at Banner MD Anderson, Dr. Choti led the surgery department at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He also had a 21-year career at Johns Hopkins, one of the nation’s most distinguished hospitals.
