I hope you're having a fantastic winter! I'm excited to be back in the office and diving into some great opportunities. This month, we have a couple of exciting programs: the Tri-County Speaking and Demonstration Festival and the much-anticipated Clover College. Remember, registration for both closes on Sunday, so be sure to sign up soon!
Did you know that January is a perfect time for 4-H members in Wisconsin to start planning their projects for the year? It's also when many clubs begin organizing their activities and events for the upcoming months. This early start helps ensure a successful and productive year for everyone involved!

Discover Wisconsin Leadership Team Application is Now Open! As an adult advisor or youth guide, you will serve as a positive role model for all participants and provide support for the youth assigned to you. You will assist County 4-H Staff and the Discover Wisconsin Planning Team in implementing and supporting the program. Additionally, you will lead educational programming in partnership with youth and other adults.

On January 25, 2025 from 10am-3pm, dive into a hands-on STEM experience at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University! Work in the UW-Stout FabLab to explore wiring, soldering, 3D printing, and electronics while creating your very own “Useless Machine.”
This opportunity is open to enrolled 4-H members in grades 6-8 for just $10, with lunch included. Financial assistance is available through your local Extension office.

Get ready for a morning packed with creativity and fun! Join us for Clover College on January 25th, 2025, at Chippewa Falls Middle School from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.You can dive into activities like floral arrangements, enchanted fairy garden creations, woodworking, no-bake cookie making, and more. Learn about parasites, build snowmen, create rock pets, and even design your perfect pizza slice.
All this excitement is just $10. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to explore, create, and have a blast! Youth can choose three sessions for the day. Please note that some sessions are geared towards specific grades. This program is open to 4-H Members & Non-Members. Register on 4-H Online by January 5th, 2025.

Speaking and Demonstration Contest
|
The 2025 Tri-County Speaking and Demonstration Contest is a fantastic opportunity for 4-H youth to develop life skills, share their passions, and boost their confidence! Open to all members, including Cloverbuds, this event is set for January 23rd, 2025, at Elk Mound High School. Registration starts at 5:00 PM, with presentations beginning at 5:30 PM. Whether presenting solo or as a dynamic duo, participants will practice essential communication skills, inspire others, and have a chance to shine in a supportive environment.

Join us for the “4-H Basic Rifle Shooting Course” to master firearm safety and Olympic-style marksmanship with match grade pellet rifles.
This course is perfect for all ages and is held on a standard indoor air rifle range. Course Details:

- Start Date: Saturday, February 15th, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Follow-Up Classes: Fridays, February 21st & 28th, 6-8 p.m. or 7:30-9:30 p.m.
- Additional Practices: March & April, with opportunities to compete in Olympic-style tournaments.

Awards program and 4-H Basic Rifle Certificate at the end of the season

Welcome to Art U 2025! This six week program is a partnership between 4-H and UW-Stout's art education department. Youth in grades k-12 will be led in virtual or in-person art lessons from UW-Stout Art Education students.
Youth participants in grades K-6 will have virtual instruction while youth participants in grades 7+ will be in-person at UW-Stout. The hour-long instructional sessions will be Monday nights at 6:30pm, February 2nd- March 3rd. We will conclude the series with an in-person celebration and art show at UW-Stout on Monday, March 10th at 6:30pm.
Anyone interested in Art U is welcome to participate. Already enrolled 4-H Members will be charged $5. Those not currently enrolled in 4-H will be charged $10. Art U will be a single project 4-H club. Participating in Art U will enroll you in 4-H and allow you to participate in other 4-H activities if you would like to do so.

Cloverbud Project Club Meeting

Ready for more Cloverbud Adventures? Join us for a morning of creativity on February 15th, 2025 at 10-11:30am, in NWSF Community Safe Room where participants will create heart-shaped crafts, conduct a science experiment, engage in heart-healthy activities, connect with Cloverbuds from across the county and begin to learn more about 4-H.

Citizenship Washington Focus

Registration for 2025 Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is opening on December 20th in 4HOnline! This educational experience is an excellent opportunity for youth in grades 10-12 to explore Washington D.C., learn about US history, engage in citizenship, and more! Youth will have the opportunity to explore their sparks while making new friends and engaging in meaningful learning in DC.
