The summer is flying by! This week we are bringing you more updates and highlights from our summer programming. If you havn't gotten involved yet but still want to, enrollment for UACS Cyber Summer Camps will continue on a rolling basis. You can find links to the enrollment applications for each UACS site below!

Lea Cyber Summer Camp 
🌟 Week 3 Highlight🌟
The K-2nd grade band at Lea is traveling all around the globe this summer! This week, they are taking a virtual trip to Canada — home to mighty moose and great big grizzly bears! The 5th-6th grade campers are learning about cultures across the globe, focusing on Indian, Chinese, and Polynesian cultures. We look forward to more fun adventures as we explore the world!

Support for Lea Families

Lea's School Advisory Council (SAC) and Home and School Association (HSA) are working to organize mutual aid for Lea families, many of whom have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To read more about the support available and ways to contribute, click here.
Hamilton & Mitchell Cyber Summer Camp 
🌟 Week 3 Highlight🌟
The Hamilton & Mitchell UACS team has been staying busy this summer. Dance club has continued their groove online — coming together to find their rhythm every Monday and Wednesday afternoon! Healthy Snack Time has also received rave reviews from campers and staff each week. Ms. Jennie wants to recognize one UACS camper in particular — Emine —who works very hard to obtain the ingredients to follow along with the lesson! Recipes from last week's creations can be found here and pictures can be found below!

City-Wide Updates

Philadelphia has been in a modified, restricted green phase for about two weeks, and to maintain this positive trend it is important that everyone do their part in keeping safe and being responsible. What is one easy thing you can do every day when you go out? Wear a mask! 😷  😷  😷

Penn Updates

The Ivy League Council of Presidents has announced that there will be no inter-collegiate athletic competiton this fall. Penn teams will be allowed to practice internally as long as they follow university and state health regulations. To read more, click here


In order to provide a safe on-campus experience for returning Penn undergraduates, the University has outlined important changes in student housing and dining. To read more, click below.

School District of Philadelphia Updates

The SDP has released a comprehensive announcement regarding the reopening of Philly schools this fall. Students will be expected to engage in learning five days per week, with a mix of face-to-face and digital learning available. When in person, face coverings, frequent hand washing, and social distancing will all be used to promote health. Digital learning will be available every day for those who are unable or not comfortable with in-person learning. To read more, click below.

Calling All Parents!

Two seniors at Penn want to learn about parents' experiences navigating different types of schools and neighborhoods, especially during the pandemic. Eligible parents will receive a $50 gift card for their participation. To learn more about the study, click here

PYN Program Share-outs

Cross-Grade Sports!

Get motivated this summer with High School Jr. Coaches from across the city! UACS K-8 students can join the FUN and engage in sports, fitness and dance activities every Tuesday from 2pm-3pm.

UACS Nights Goes Summer!
UACS Nights is on a roll and running through Friday, August 7th! Join us for an awesome array of activities, like Cooking with Families with Chefs Karima and Amber, Wednesdays 6-8pm!
