Teachers' Time to Shine

While there is seldom a stage or public platform for teachers, we all know that Valor educators are special.
We were reminded of this yet again this past week as we received letters from Stanford University thanking two of our faculty for the difference they had made in the development of two of our alumni who are thriving in college.
Brian Davis and Kurt Gutschick were honored for exceptional teaching and their dedication to their students both in academics and life mentorship.
During this season, we are all thankful for a Christian school, Christian community, and the blessing of those who teach at Valor.

Modified Schedules for Finals Week

View the class schedule for December 10-20, including extended period days, review days, and final exam dates.

Last Call for Moms Christmas Dinner Tickets

You can buy tickets until Tuesday for the Moms Christmas Dinner this Thursday evening at 6:30 in the Dining Commons. It is a great event to attend solo or with friends, and it includes great fellowship, dinner, special music, and a Boutique shopping experience from 8:00-9:30 pm with exclusives from the Eagles Nest and Kingdom-driven vendors.

Save the Date for Grandparents' Lunch

This year's Grandparent Luncheon has been moved from the fall to the spring. Mark your calendars for Thursday March 7, 2019. We are looking forward to providing a wonderful time for Valor grandparents including lunch with their Valor grandchild.

Mandatory Discovery Experience Meeting

Parents and students on Discovery teams this year should plan to attend a mandatory meeting for all Discovery teams on November 27 at 6:00 pm starting in the Main Gym. A $250 payment will be due at this meeting. Team-specific meetings will occur after the main session.

Still Interested in Applying for a Discovery Trip?

Several Discovery teams are still continuining the application and interview process. Applications are open until the teams fill up, so it is best to apply early.

Provide Christmas Cookies for Staff and Faculty

For this loved Valor tradition, parents sign up to bring cookies and help set up a cookie exchange to bless all of our staff and faculty for the holidays. Staff and faculty will build their own plate to take home.

Dress Code Reminder

As we approach the end of the semester, it is important to note that dress code guidelines will apply all the way through the end of finals. Please remind your students that in particular sweats, hats, crop tops, and leggings or yoga pants when worn with tops that do not cover the rear end and encircle the front and back are not acceptable at Valor. In violation of the dress code, students must correct the infraction before going to class.
