UACS Programming

UACS Afterschool Programming Sign-Up

UACS programming started Oct. 4th, Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm, available for 2nd to 8th graders.
Click HERE to fill out a survey which will enroll students into the UACS Afterschool Programming.

Hamilton School- Activities include: chess, mentoring, theater arts, homework help, gardening, arts & crafts, sports, and MORE!
Mitchell School (ONLINE) - Activities include: arts & crafts, science experiments, cooking, and MORE! Program supplies will be provided.

School District of Philadelphia Updates
The School District of Philadelphia announced some major changes to its school selection process.
Beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year, rising students in Kindergarten through 12th grade can identify a school they'd like to attend, even if it's outside their assigned catchment area.

- Vaccine is always free 
- No insurance or ID required 
- Free SEPTA passes are available on-site 
- Language line interpretation is available 
- Walk-ups are welcome! 
- Appointments for this clinic and all other vaccine clinics are available here in Spanish and English for anyone to schedule: visit the website or call 3-1-1 (For interpretation, call 3-1-1, press #5 and say your language to be connected to an interpreter.)

Urban Technology Project Apprenticeships

A collaboration between the Philadelphia School District and Communities In Schools of Philadelphia, Inc., UTP offers young people directly applicable professional development for entry-level IT careers. Its AmeriCorps Digital Service Fellows is a pre-apprenticeship program for recent high school grads ages 17 to 24. Click HERE to learn more. 

Vaccine Outreach Field Coordinator (Family Medicine and Community Health)

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health GoVax Philly Field Coordinator will support a community-based vaccine program to build the public health workforce and increase vaccine equity. The GoVax Philly Program is building a cohort of vaccine canvassers to conduct door-to-door outreach in West and Southwest Philadelphia, providing vaccine education, scheduling, and coordination for local residents. The Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the canvassing program, including managing canvasser schedules, troubleshooting canvasser issues, supporting canvasser training/education, as well as contributing to the development of the overall strategy for the program. Vaccine Field Canvasser (Family Medicine and Community Health)

The GoVax Philly Vaccine Canvasser will conduct door-to-door outreach among residents of West and Southwest Philadelphia, engaging them in conversations regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. The Vaccine Canvasser will be responsible for providing education, dispelling myths, and coordinating vaccine appointments for residents. The Vaccine Canvasser will also be responsible for participating in ongoing education/training opportunities provided by the project team, in order to remain up to date on the latest vaccine research and policy.
