Camp 2019

This year’s camp trip is one for the history books! It started with a pizza party/ slumber party at Mrs. Brittany’s house. The five girls excitedly stayed up all night and were crabby (LOL) when Mrs. Brittany woke them up at 4:00AM to get ready for the 5.5-hr drive to Lake Champion.   We were one of the first groups to arrive at camp. We were blown away by the work crew: they formed a “tunnel of love”, cheering for us as we got out of our vehicles and carrying all our bags into the cabin. Within the first couple of hours the girls were in the pool, on the zip line, or riding on the boat. It was so overwhelming to see our moms able to just be teenagers again. For some of the girls this was their first camp experience, the first time they had reliable childcare, or even the first time they had eaten 3 meals in a day (!)
Thank you for praying for our moms and their babies!

Through the week we listened to a powerful series of messages from camp speaker Aswan Morris, who described the difference between being helpless and being hopeless. Explaining that “the DNA of love is sacrifice,” he told the girls that God loved them so much He gave the ultimate sacrifice when He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for them. Our moms experienced so many breakthroughs and broken strongholds while at camp. We had two moms give their lives to Jesus and all our other moms reaffirmed their decision to follow Christ. I truly believe generational curses were broken.  We left camp standing on this scripture: “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s Love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor worries about tomorrow- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or below- indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8: 38-39 NLT

We can't wait to see what God is going to do next in their lives!
