Jennifer Allen named Interim Dean of College of Urban and Public Affairs
Beginning April 1, the College of Urban and Public Affairs will see new leadership in Jennifer Allen, Portland Professor of Environmental and Natural Resource Policy in the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government, as she steps in as Interim Dean. Allen replaces Interim Dean Sy Adler, who is retiring after 41 years at Portland State. Bring Your Kids to Campus Day is April 10 — register now!
Bring Your Kids to Campus Day is back and PSU will have a full day of child-focused activities hosted by departments, organizations, and student clubs in locations all over campus. Show your children all that PSU has to offer, and get them excited about university life! The event is Monday, April 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is FREE for all students, staff, and faculty. Registration is required.
Professional development opportunity in diversity, equity and inclusion
The Center for Executive and Professional Education’s (CEPE) fully online Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) noncredit certificate program will launch on April 4. This professional development opportunity provides a strong foundation of DEI concepts essential for those working in higher education and beyond. Fulbright Scholar information session on April 7
PSU faculty are invited to a virtual Fulbright Scholar Program webinar on Friday, April 7 at noon. Participants will learn about the exciting opportunities available for teaching, research, and professional development around the world, which is designed to broaden your horizons, deepen your knowledge, and expand your network in your field of expertise. Planning ahead to match a Fulbright with a sabbatical year is often the best for most PSU faculty. Registration is required for this information session.
Have a blast at Boulder Bash!
Celebrate climbing in a fun and friendly environment at the Bridgetown Boulder Bash community climbing competition on Friday, April 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Open to everyone at PSU and in the Portland community (ages 16+). All skill-levels are welcome. At the end of the event, join us for a raffle of climbing gear and prizes. Register at Campus Rec Member Services or in the Outdoor Program office. $5 for Campus Rec members; $10 for non-members.
