A smaller scale version of Raleigh sculptor and NC State alum Matt McConnell’s “Evolution Field” will be on display near Bostian Hall until February. The sculpture features three sets of three interwoven panels of orange, green and purple curved lines, with an electrical component that creates a stunning light display at night.

Insurance Card Updates

The State Health Plan will mail new cards to members for the 2024 plan year in late December. New Dental and Vision benefits cards will not be mailed unless it is for a new enrollment or change during annual enrollment. Likewise, new Flexible Spending cards are only sent for new enrollments or if an employee card is nearing expiration.

  • With the help of a UNC System grant, Wellness and Recreation is partnering with the College of Engineering to launch a new wellness app.
  • University Housing is hiring for 2024-25 Resident Advisors and Village Mentors! Send interested students here.
  • The on-campus room selection application for returning students will open on Nov. 1. Students interested in returning to on-campus housing or a Living and Learning Village must fill out the application. Applications close Feb. 4 at 5 p.m.
  • The NC State Office of Information Technology (OIT) has indicated that the next quarterly extended maintenance window is Saturday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 5. Maintenance is expected to begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday and extend through 6 p.m. on Sunday.
  • DASA Technology Services would like to remind purchasers within the Division about technology procurement for hardware, software, and technology services based on several incidents that have happened in the past few weeks.
  • Nicholas Jackson’s “Crossroads” exhibition at the NC State Crafts Center closes on Nov. 2.
  • University Theatre presents NC State student Kiran Soma’s play, “What We Grew Up With.” The play runs Nov. 2-5 7:30 p.m. nightly, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee.
  • Experience dance and music performances at NC State! Tickets for all Department of Performing Arts and Technology fall 2023 concerts are now available for purchase through Ticket Central.
  • The NC State Higher Education Administration graduate program will hold its spring virtual recruiting event, Preview the Pack, Feb. 15-16, 2024. Virtual GA employer interviews will be the following week: Feb. 19-23, 2024. There is a virtual information meeting at 9 a.m. on Nov. 10.
  • Reminder: First Generation Celebration Week is Nov. 6-10. Students can register here.
  • Reminder: Flu shots are free and available for NC State staff through appointments at the Campus Health Center, or walk-in clinics across campus until December. See a full schedule for clinics here.
