Students and faculty paid tribute to Mary Kay Costello this morning as she wraps up her time at The Academy.  Ms. Costello taught Biology, Chemistry, Geometry and Statistics during Mr. Miller's paternity leave.  She was a wonderful and welcome addition to our community, and we wish her the best of luck.
Mr. Miller returns next week.

NEW CITIZENS CENTER EDUCATOR PRESENTS TO ACADEMY HUMANITIES STUDENTS

Daniel Gay (brother of Academic Dean Neale Gay), is an educator at the New Citizens Center in Worcester, MA.  He spoke to Academy students on Tuesday, February 21. All of his students, ages 18-22, are either refugees or they came to the United States as undocumented minors. They are from four continents (Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe) and on any given day more than a dozen languages can be heard in his classroom. Academy students asked questions about a range of issues ranging from Daniel's students' experiences getting to the US to their hopes and fears, now that they're on US soil.

Wrapping Up the Winter Athletics Season
Academy students, faculty and staff enjoyed playing basketball (and a few other games!) together at the Cowell Gym on Thursday, as a wrap up to our winter season. Our ski racers, Kyle N and Reilly O, wrapped up their season with a giant slalom race on Wednesday at Eaglebrook. As a part of Thursday's activities, basketball coach Synphany Bates Zale and ski coach Jasper Kearsley reflected on the season and the growth and spirt of our athletes. Thanks to them for their efforts, and to Mr. Schatz for organizing a fun and lively afternoon for partcipants AND spectators.

AND NOW IT'S TIME FOR SPRING ATHLETICS!

For spring athletics options and other details, please see this letter.
