The RVR Annual Meeting took place this past Wednesday and was a great success! Attendees enjoyed delicious food provided by European Caterers while connecting with neighbors and hearing updates from RVR leadership. Board President Michael Banbury welcomed attendees, General Manager Ashley Lynch provided an update on the Ranch House renovation project and RVR water rights. Brian Leasure offered a snapshot of the local real estate market. The new owner of the RVR Golf Course also joined the conversation to share updates and answer questions from attendees.

At the July 2026 Board meeting, the RVRMA Board of Directors formally considered and unanimously approved the proposed Vacant Lot Improvement Policy following the completion of the required community review and feedback period in accordance with RVR's Policy Adoption Process.

Homeowners interested in making improvements to a vacant lot are encouraged to contact Jessica Hennessy, Director of Community Services, at jessica.hennessy@rvrma.org. Jessica is happy to answer questions, discuss project ideas, and provide guidance on the Design Review process and application requirements. During Wednesday’s Annual Meeting there was a discussion concerning RVR’s water rights and associated water restrictions. In working with the Town of Carbondale, the headgates on the ditches which feed our shared irrigation system have been turned down, reducing the flow of water that we receive. It is anticipated that further restrictions (to our ditch flow off of the Crystal River) will be mandatory in the near future.

We ask that all homeowners follow the water restrictions put in place by the Town of Carbondale effective immediately.  

As a reminder, RVRMA and the golf course share the same water system, and our water agreement is designed to ensure adequate water pressure at all times. Under this agreement, RVR homeowners may irrigate between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., while the golf course waters between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

One of the easiest and most effective home-hardening steps is adding 1/8-inch fire-resistant metal screening to attic vents. Most homes have some mesh screening, but not all have screening small enough to help keep wind-driven wildfire embers out of the attic, which is a major ignition risk.

This upgrade is recommended by fire-safety experts, including the Carbondale Fire Department and the Roaring Fork Wildfire Collaborative, as an important step toward making homes more fire resilient.

This work is being completed at the Ranch House. Please remember that dryer vents require unrestricted airflow for safe operation, screening them with 1/8 screening can increase your fire risk!

Last year, many of us enjoyed checking in on the osprey nest near the 17th tee, only to find an unexpected goose had taken up residence. Without its usual feathered owners, the nest eventually deteriorated and fell apart.

The good news? This spring, the ospreys returned to the very same tree, rebuilt their nest, and are now raising a family!

We're excited to share that Phase Two of the Ranch House Renovation is scheduled to begin the week of September 7, following the Labor Day holiday!

As we prepare for construction, you may notice some initial staging activities taking place during the week of August 31. We'll continue to keep the community informed as the project approaches and will share additional details regarding the construction schedule, any temporary impacts, and what to expect along the way.

We're looking forward to kicking off the next phase of improvements and appreciate everyone's patience and support as we continue enhancing the Ranch House for the community!

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are in effect for the Town of Carbondale and surrounding areas due to increased fire danger. These restrictions prohibit activities that could spark a wildfire and are intended to help protect our community, public lands, and emergency responders.

As we head into August, a few of our fitness instructors will be away, which means you may notice some changes to the schedule.

Rather than canceling a class altogether, we may fill its usual time slot with a different but similar class, such as stretching and balance in place of yoga or cardio in place of cycling. Occasional cancellations may still be necessary.

These temporary changes are a great opportunity to explore a different class format, meet a new instructor or step outside your usual routine. You might just discover a new favorite class.

We're pleased to welcome Parker Levy to the Ranch House as our newest fitness instructor and personal trainer.

Take a moment to learn more about Parker and his background below:

I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor with a bachelor of science in kinesiology and psychology from Oregon State University. Originally from Basalt, Colorado, I have spent the past four years

working with a diverse range of clients, including athletes, older adults, individuals managing chronic pain and disability, and those seeking to improve their overall health and fitness.
My areas of expertise include strength and hypertrophy training, mobility and functional
movement, athletic performance development, weight management, and chronic pain
management. I combine evidence-based exercise programming with principles of psychology
and behavior change to help clients achieve sustainable, long-term results. Having personally overcome severe chronic pain, obesity, and mobility limitations, I understand
the challenges many clients face and am passionate about helping others build strength,
confidence, and resilience through movement. When I’m not coaching, I’m preparing for admission to a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and continuing my education in human movement, performance, and rehabilitation.
