Remote Parents Support Group
Please join us for a supportive discussion and an opportunity to connect with other UCSD remote working parents. Working from home and parenting during the Coronavirus pandemic is extremely unfamiliar territory for us all, not to mention the difficulty balancing roles amid a variety of stressors. Parenting is never easy, but this is unprecedented. You are not alone!

Develop Communication Skills at Toastmasters (Via Zoom)
Do you freeze when called upon in meetings? Do you dread giving presentations? You are not alone! We invite you to join Triton Toastmasters, a fun group of staff, students, and community members that gather virtually via Zoom weekly from 2–3 p.m. on Thursdays to gain confidence in speaking and leadership.
The program allows you to practice at your own pace, present on topics you find interesting, and gain targeted feedback from a mentor. Visit as a guest as many times as you’d like—there is no pressure to participate until you're ready. We look forward to meeting you!

Book Talk: Honor Thy Label with Gero Leson and Prof. Cathleen Moran
You are invited to a book talk with Rady School of Management faculty and Gero Leson, Dr. Bronner's VP of Special Operations. In Honor Thy Label, Leson reveals the inside story of how a little-known family-run soap company grew from countercultural roots to create a revolutionary fair trade and organic supply chain from the ground up—and rode the waves of popular demand without losing sight of the process. This event is hosted by UC San Diego University Centers and UC San Diego Sustainability Resource Center.

The International Faculty & Scholars Office invites you to an interactive origami session featuring campus group Origami Folders at UCSD. Origami masters will showcase their abilities and lead a beginner/kid friendly demo featuring origami butterflies. If time, there might be an intermediate demo for those that are more familiar with this art form.
Please be prepared with a few sheets of squared paper to participate. For instructions on how to make a square sheet of paper (using printer or notebook paper), please refer to wikiHow prior to the event.

This course will address how to hold high stakes conversations more effectively to get better results by learning:
1. How to spot the conversations keeping you from what you want
2. How to get your motive right and stay focused on what you really want
3. How to stay in dialogue when you're angry, scared, or hurt
4. How to be persuasive, not abrasive
5. How to make it safe enough to talk about almost anything
Note: This course consists of five two-hour sessions occurring Monday-Friday. Please consider registering for this course very carefully as the cost of the class is non-refundable after the registration deadline has passed.
