| My thanks to the crews who worked tirelessly over the Thanksgiving weekend and earlier this week to keep our roads safe!
In this issue, check out progress made at the Sculpture Park before the snows hit. With the holidays upon us, visit Uptown Normal and keep the holiday magic close to home by shopping local. Your favorite boutiques, small businesses and restaurants offer friendly faces, unique finds and a festive energy.

Santa’s packing up the sleigh and making his way to Uptown Normal. Get your wish lists ready and turn up your holiday cheer! Santa's Station opens this Saturday. Pssst! If you can't make it to Uptown Normal, the big guy is also available over the phone!
The Children's Discovery Museum and Illinois Art Station offer magical, artistic fun. Check out their upcoming events and programs!

The Town of Normal is making progress at the planned sculpture park at 1110 Douglas St., Normal, near the Community Activity Center at One Normal Plaza.
Shown at left, a new plaza and pavement area surrounding the memorial sculpture, "Circle of Friendship," in front of the Community Activity Center.

On Dec. 1, the Normal Town Council took the following actions:
|
|
|
- Authorized an agreement with the Illinois State Historic Preservation Office for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Section 106 Environmental Reviews
- Awarded a contract to update the flooring in the Children's Discovery Museum in high-traffic areas such as stairwells and throughout the second-floor exhibit area
- Established a new public hearing date for the Uptown North Tax Increment Finance District Redevelopment Plan and Project Area
- Granted a special use permit to install roof-mounted solar panels at 1209 S. Fell, part of the Highland Historic District
- Amended the employment agreement for the City Manager, extending its duration to March 2028
| | In 2024, the Children's Discovery Museum served more than 135,000 people, including, nearly 34,000 member visits and more than 13,000 field trip visitors!

CodeRED urges subscribers who have reused their CodeRED/Notify Normal password for any other personal or business accounts to change those passwords immediately.
