A library card is your most important school supply—it's elemental, really—and everyone should have one!
Celebrate and Spread the Word
Visit our library to see what's new and take part in the celebration. Libraries across the country are participating. Do you have friends who don't have a library card? Invite them to sign up! Have a family member or friend sign up for a new library card and you'll be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize!
Library Card Sign-up Month is a time to highlight the supportive role libraries and librarians play in transforming lives and communities through education. Join us as we host three Longview Centennial events including a “Community Read,” see more details below.Â

Sept 21st | 6:00 pm
Join our newest monthly book club! On the third Thursday of each month! For all ages!
We'll make different recipes from the month's chosen cookbook and bring a dish to share.
We'll discuss our thoughts on the recipes and choose cookbooks for upcoming months. Trying new recipes and having fun is what this cookbook club is about!
For September, we'll be making recipes from any edition of the Betty Crocker cookbooks. You can check one out at the library, or get an electronic copy from Libby or Hoopla with your Longview Public Library card.

| Sept 23rd | 9:30 am
Aaron, from the band Micah and Me, brings 30 ukuleles (you are welcome to bring your own) for this hands on workshop. No experience necessary. This is a high energy ukulele class with rock-n-roll endings after each song. Aaron keeps it light and fun and you'll be playing the ukulele in no time!
Ages 10-110 work best. Most kids under 10 don't usually last longer than 15 minutes. Every once in a while a six-year-old can pay attention the whole time, but this doesn't happen very often. If you think your little one will, then by all means bring them!
