| Faculty Survey on Course Material Accessibility |
Faculty will receive a brief survey this week regarding course material accessibility. The survey, endorsed by the Faculty Senate, is part of an institutional effort to better understand current practices, awareness of available resources, and how the University can most effectively support faculty in this area. This work will help inform planning as accessibility expectations for digital course materials continue to evolve. Please watch for a message from the Faculty Senate with additional details.

Reminder: RSVP for the Celebration of Faculty Excellence by April 20 |
The Celebration of Faculty Excellence is set to take place on Tuesday, April 28. This event brings our community together to honor the outstanding achievements of our faculty across categories including Researcher of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Adjunct of the Year, Excellence and Innovation in Teaching 21st Century Skills, and the Excellence in Service-Learning Award. This event is open to faculty, administrators and staff. Please RSVP by April 20, if you would like to attend.

This Thursday: Rescheduled Innovation Hub Blessing and Opening Ceremony |
The Blessing and Grand Opening of the Innovation Hub has been rescheduled for this Thursday, April 16 at 2:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to stay after the ceremony to enjoy light refreshments and facility tours, led by TLTC members. Jaki Lecture by Nicholas Teh of Notre Dame |

The Stanley Jaki Academy for Theology and Science invites all to a lecture by Nicholas Teh, Ph.D. (Notre Dame) on Pierre Duhem’s philosophy of action and scientific practice. Drawing on Aristotle and Elizabeth Anscombe, Professor Teh will explore how science reflects human action and consider Duhem’s Physics of a Believer. Read more.

Save the Date: Time Machines Symposium

Thursday, April 23 | 2 – 4 p.m. | Walsh Library, 24/7 Study Room
This session shares the research projects of five undergraduate students who worked in Special Collections, delving into a specific object or collection over the course of an academic year. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the actual objects students worked with. In the second hour, faculty will present on their archival research, highlighting shared challenges and discoveries common to both student and faculty research experiences. Read more.

Refine your instructional materials with hands-on support at the Materials Makeover Lab, offered Wednesday, April 15 at the Law School (1:30 to 3 p.m., Room 436) and Friday, April 17 at the South Orange campus (2 to 3:30 p.m., Exploration Studio). If you discover an error after a quiz has been submitted, Canvas’s Quiz Regrade feature allows you to update certain question types and automatically adjust student grades. SHU-TV Debuts First Student Production in the Innovation Hub
SHU-TV’s Campus Nightly became the first student-led production filmed in the Innovation Hub Production Studio, bringing together student teams across campus in a coordinated, real-world media production. Working in a fast-paced environment with professional-grade equipment, students gained hands-on experience and took on roles central to broadcast production. Learn more.

The call for applications is now open for the Academies and Idea Hall initiatives through September 10, 2026. These programs provide seed funding to support innovative, high-impact projects that advance our academic mission and strengthen the student experience.

The Academies support initiatives within Academic Affairs, including projects that advance research, scholarship, interdisciplinary or international program development, mission-related programming, and other creative work.

The Idea Hall mechanism is open to all divisions, with a focus on projects that create or enhance student experiences and ultimately contribute to retention through collaborative projects between academic and non-academic divisions.
