Dear Spartans,
Welcome back! Whether you're new to San José State or returning for another semester, we're excited to have you.
Following our recent first look at the exciting arrivals of 7th Street Subs and bb.q Chicken in the Student Union, we're excited to share that there's even more to look forward to this fall! Be sure to stop by the grand openings of 7th Street Subs, serving fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, and bb.q Chicken, bringing Korea's favorite fried chicken to campus. You'll also notice a refreshed Burger 408, featuring an updated look and a budget-friendly menu.
At the Dining Commons, we're introducing Global Kitchen, a new station replacing Paper Lantern. The station will showcase South Asian cuisine and dishes inspired by authentic Indian favorites while continuing to feature rotating global flavors, including many of the Asian-inspired dishes you've come to know and love.
This semester, we're introducing Milestones, a new event series celebrating memorable moments throughout the student journey. It all begins with Love at First Bite on August 19, where we'll celebrate the first bite of the semester with giveaways, photo opportunities, and more in partnership with University Housing Services. First Year Eats also returns with pennant-making, Mix & Mingles at the Dining Commons and Spartan Village on the Paseo, and food tours featuring free samples from dining locations across campus. We're also launching Cooking Up Confidence, a new program created by first-generation alumni for first-generation students, featuring Lunch & Learn sessions focused on cooking, budgeting, and practical life skills.
