Bringing the holiday cheer through SRWC |
The streets are turning festive for the holiday season. In this joyous time, Stanford Redwood City is making it our mission to think about those who don't have the means to celebrate. To ensue this season of lights is bright enough to warm everyone's hearts, here is a list of giving opportunities that you can contribute to throughout December.

We are supporting Taft Community School in Redwood City where, each year, families sign up to be “adopted” for the holidays. We are looking for individuals to help purchase items from each family's wish list. Drop off or mail unwrapped gift items by Wednesday, December 6.
| Holiday Toy and Book Drive |
Public safety agencies in San Mateo County, including Redwood City's Fire and Police Departments, are conducting this year's Annual Holiday Toy and Book Drive. Donation barrels will be placed in building lobbies starting Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 15 for new and unwrapped toys and books.
| Cardinal Cares Assembly Party |
Cardinal at Work Cares is in need of volunteers for the assembly party on Monday, December 4, in Cardinal Hall. Sign up for a 30-minute slot to help sort and package items that will be donated to those in need. As a perk, volunteers get a free lunch!
On Tuesday, December 12, we ask that you bring a new, unwrapped gift or book to the SRWC Holiday Gathering as your ticket in. These gifts will go to families in need right here in our Fair Oaks neighborhood. Those who donate will be entered into a raffle to win a prize.

Refrigerator Cleaning:
Please remove any items from the refrigerator before December 21. They will be deep cleaned during the winter break and any items inside will be thrown away.
| Barron Garage Closure:
Barron Garage will remain closed for maintenance and repairs between December 21 and January 3. Please use the parking lots on Bay Road and Broadway if you are on campus during this time.
Automated Shades:
Please do not attach clips, post-its or other items to the shades in your area or leave plants on the window sill. If you notice anything, please remove them for smooth functioning of the shades.
| Bike Locker Rooms:
If you're commuting on bikes to the campus, make sure you know the right way to lock your bikes to the bike stands outside each building. There are also secure bike rooms at the entrance to the Recreation and Wellness Center and across Barron street from Pine Cone Children's Center.
| Space heaters are not allowed on campus:
Space heaters are not permitted at Stanford Redwood City. As noted by the University EH&S Department and Office of Sustainability, such heating units can use a lot of energy, cause breakers to trip and are dangerous when unattended.
