News from the Dean

Educating students for a dynamic profession can be challenging, but I am very pleased with the efforts and outcomes of our faculty and staff at creating graduates with a game-changing mantra. Pharmacists are positioned well to serve God as they serve people. They bring skills unlike any other healthcare professional and are capable of catalyzing improved outcomes and reduced healthcare costs across all people groups. I am excited for the future and how our graduates will play a role in the next generation of our profession. Please enjoy reading about a few of our recent highlights.

Pursuing a New Venture in Pharmacy

The Board of Trustees approved a retail pharmacy resolution that authorizes Cedar Care LLC, established in 2016 by the University as a separate entity, to explore opening a pharmacy practice in the Village of Cedarville. The proposed pharmacy will provide educational opportunities for the University’s pharmacy students; offer potential employment for students, faculty, and staff; meet prescription and pharmaceutical needs of the University and the surrounding communities; and contribute to the economy of the Village of Cedarville. If this venture becomes a reality, Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy will join a select few programs across the United States that have the opportunity to partner with an LLC in offering pharmacy services for their local community.
