Summer Farewell
What a great opportunity to end our academic year, say farewell to our graduating students and find a little bit about what everyone will be up to over the summer. It is always nice to find that Vanderbilt University's Medical School leaves some time to contemplate future goals in a season of respite. While our rising 4th year students are spending time studying for Step exams, it seems there is some pleasure reading and travel to be had.
Dr. Noah Thompson Orfield, is reading the next installment of The Three Body Problem series, Death's End by Cixin Liu. Noted by some as the most impactful sci-fi series to date, it is soon to be turned into a Netflix series as well.
Dr. Melanie Schuele is heading to the wilds of Alaska and Ruidosa, Texas. Ruidosa is called a ghost town, but houses 43 residents. An avid camper and road tripper, Dr. Schuele's adventures are always a reflection and renewal.
Dr. Ryan Buckley is planning to read The Thursday Murder Club (an excellent novel about unsolved crimes in the hands of retirees) when not contemplating the nuances of customer discovery.
Dr. Dennis Zhou plans to read Originals by Adam Grant and Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. Both books contain subject matter of compassion, leadership, and independence. Travel plans include his sister's college graduation, and trips to NYC and Boston.
Dr. Trent Rosenbloom plans to read Hot Hot Chicken: A Nashville Story and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Once again he will be everyone's favorite camp doctor in Wisconsin and hopes to be in Monkey shape before November.
We look forward to catching up with you in the fall, introducing you to our new M1 cohort and telling you about everything that MIDP has to offer.
