Media Mentions This Wall Street Journal story by Sadie Gurman (behind subscription wall) features St. John's Law Professor John Q. Barrett's commentary on the SCOTUS investigation into the leaked, draft Dobbs opinion. Here's an excerpt: "It is not the most aggressive way to pursue" an investigation, said John Q. Barrett, a law professor at St. John's University. "It’s a careful, nearby, trusted employee who can take on this task. It keeps it close and maximizes confidentiality."
In this New York Times story, Shira Ovide taps St. John's Law Professor Kate Klonick's expertise to answer the question, "What happens when Mr. Musk owns Twitter?" Professor Klonick shares: "[G]rowing laws over online expression theoretically took some power over speech away from unelected Silicon Valley executives. But those leaders still must decide on the interpretation of the laws and make decisions on the speech ungoverned by them."
Cambridge University Press – Academic highlighted Professor Mark Movsesian's state-of-the-field essay, "Law, Religion, and the COVID-19 Crisis," which appears in the current edition of the Journal of Law and Religion. And, in an opinion piece for First Things, Professor Movsesian explains how the leak of the draft Dobbs opinion differs from past SCOTUS leaks, and why it poses a real danger for the Court.
"It's past time that New York legislators give their constituents the same protections against overreaching that consumers in other states have," says Professor Jeff Sovern in this guest essay for Newsday.
