LONGVIEW PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWSLETTER
Drive-Thru Pickup
The library drive-thru pickup service is open!
Requested items are available to pick up during designated hours. Typically, if you request an item by 8AM Friday it will be available to pick up the following week unless it is checked out to another person. Items are checked out to you on Friday and are held for you to pick up for two weeks.
More information about the service is available on our website: http://longviewlibrary.org/techtipholds.php
Here are some tips!
Change your notification option to email or text to get quicker notices from the library. Log into your account. From the left hand menu select "My Record," and then select "My Contact Information and Preferences" on the right. Under "Preferences" you can choose how to receive your library notices.
You can pick up BookPage in the drive-thru! We have free copies of the book review magazine BookPage available, just ask when you drive thru!
Drive thru hours are:
Monday 10 AM - 1 PM
Tuesday 1 PM - 4 PM
Wednesday 4 PM - 7 PM

How Can We Better Serve You?

With Safe Start Washington paused in its current phases, it doesn't look like we'll be able to open the library doors soon, but we'd love to know how to serve you better now.
Please take a moment to respond to this quick survey about the services we have been offering during our closure and what you'd like to see this fall.

Check Out New Magazines!

All issues of the magazines the library subscribes to are available for checkout and pickup through drive-thru.
You can search for magazines in our online catalog in a few ways. You can narrow a search result to just magazines by selecting "serial" under "type of material" in the left-hand menu.
You can also limit an advanced search by clicking "more search options" and selecting, under the collections menu, "adult magazines," "J magazines" (kids) or "YA magazines" (teens). Then type an * in the search field to browse all our magazine titles!

Fall Seed Checkouts

A new round of seed checkouts begins August 1, which means that if you ordered packets for spring or summer planting, you can order again for the fall. Each cardholder can order up to 10 packets of seeds to be mailed to them, thanks to the Friends of the Longview Library. The online order form is here: http://longviewlibrary.org/seedlibrary.php
Now is a great time to sow late crops like greens, root vegetables, and peas. You can also start planning for fall sown native perennials - these seeds are planted in the fall to come up in the spring. Fall sown natives are listed on our croplist.

Longview Public Library Summer Reading, June 19 - August 15
Illustration bear reading a book next to a bowl of porridge
Summer Reading continues until August 15! If you haven't signed up yet, there's still time! Log your reading and earn prizes!
If readers in the baby, kids, and teen summer programs haven't redeemed their "Read a Book into the Library" books, you can find the link to our virtual book walls in your Beanstack account under the Rewards tab of the summer program. We put their name on a book plate inside the book thanking them for reading it into the library, and they get to be the first ones to check it out!
We're grateful to the Friends of the Longview Library, the Longview Library Foundation, the Rotary Club, and all our summer readers for their support of our summer program.
