Hoops: Page quiets Lady Burros in 2nd half to reach Region 6-AAA final
By David DawsonSports Reporter

FRANKLIN — Rather than waiting until March, the Page High School girls basketball team has been in a “madness mindset” for weeks.

And now that March has arrived, the Lady Patriots seem determined to just keep doing their thing.

They notched their 10th straight win on Monday night — and this one was the biggest yet.

Hosting Hillsboro in the semifinals of the Region 6-AAA tournament, the Lady Patriots used a huge second-half scoring run to break open a tight game on their way to a 47-31 victory.

Lili Wilken scored a team-high 16 points, including going 10-of-11 from the foul line, and McKenzie Cochran added 14 points for the top-seeded Lady Patriots, who improved to 19-7 overall. Latazia Williamson scored 11 points to lead No. 2-seeded Hillsboro.

By Charles Pulliam Multimedia Reporter

ANTIOCH –  The pendulum of emotions swung to each extreme for the Brentwood High School girls basketball team Monday. The Lady Bruins went from being in complete control of their Region 6-AAA semifinal – and just a half away from clinching a sectional berth – to fighting to extend their season in a see-saw battle at Cane Ridge.

Those high-fives and smiles from the first half ultimately ended in tears for the Brentwood girls.

The Lady Ravens erased an 18-point halftime deficit and for the first time in school history claimed a region championship berth and potential shot at state, storming back for a 63-60 victory to stun the Lady Bruins.
