Dear Student Services and Enrollment Management Team,

As we continue to build a better understanding of staff climate, diversity, and inclusion in our workplace, the SSEM Diversity Task Force will be conducting the 2021 Workplace Community Survey in the coming weeks.

I encourage every member of our team to complete the confidential survey, which should take no more than 10 minutes. It is hard to overstate how important it is to ensure we all have a workplace environment that supports our professional and personal identities. We will use this survey as a guide toward meaningful, positive change in the quality of our work environment, and will review this year’s findings compared to the 2017 and 2019 results. The survey will continue biennially to monitor staff climate and measure our progress.

We will email the survey to you on Tuesday, May 4. If you have any questions about this upcoming survey, please feel free to reach out to one of the Diversity Task Force co-chairs: Turi Holte or Alex Galbreath.

Thank you,

Roger J. Thompson
Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management

P.S. We hope you’ll encourage others in your department to participate in this survey. If at least 70 percent of a department participates, all staff members in that department will be entered to win one of 30 Amazon gift cards ($25-$50 in value). Please note that your responses will be confidential.

We are not tracking any information on which individuals complete the survey and we will not collect IP addresses. Only the total number of participants from each department will be used to determine eligibility for the gift card raffle. The Diversity Task Force will make every effort to maintain your anonymity during discussions or policy change suggestions in association with open-ended responses that may identify you.
