Center Court - The Newsletter of the Orange County Clerk of Courts

June 2019

Are You Having a June Wedding?
Warm weather, sunshine, green grass, flowers in full bloom… it’s no wonder so many Floridians get married in June.
If you're one of the many couples getting ready for their big day this month: you can cross one item off the wedding to-do list by applying for your marriage license with the Orange County Clerk of Courts.
Your time is important, especially when you are busy with wedding planning. That's why my office offers options like our eMarriage application, which allows you to apply online, and online appointment scheduling so you can plan your trip to the downtown courthouse or one of our branch locations in advance and save time.
Did you know that my office also performs marriage ceremonies? Visit our website to learn more.
For more details on these services and the requirements for marriage licenses and ceremonies, visit the Marriage section of our website at myorangeclerk.com.
Mental Health Class Helps Save Lives
I’m pleased to share that our free My Health Matters – Mental Health and Suicide Prevention class was a big success and helped get our community trained on important steps that could save a life.

30 people attended the suicide prevention class that was organized by my office, the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, and the Florida Implementation of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention (FINS).

The free QPR training held at the end of May at Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex helped raise awareness about suicide prevention and reduce the stigma of mental health.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

We also shared how the Clerk’s Office can help with filing a mental health related proceeding. To learn more about our Mental Health services, click here.
