How can you love lemurs on Giving Tuesday - and throughout the holiday season?
Let us count the ways...
Shown above are 12 species of lemurs at the Duke Lemur Center, which cares for and maintains the world's largest 'genetic safety net' of lemurs, Earth's most threatened mammals.

A DOZEN+ GREAT WAYS TO SUPPORT THE DUKE LEMUR CENTER:
Choose your favorite way/s to give. EVERY gift helps!
Be a part of all of the work the Duke Lemur Center does with an unrestricted gift of any amount! Whether your gift is small or large, unrestricted gifts together are a magical and critical part of our budget, "saving the day" and empowering us to cover expenses for priority needs such as:
- the maintenance, repairs, and modifications needed for our fencing and animal caging (so important!);
-
a portion of the wages for staff who take care of the lemurs (husbandry and veterinary care teams);
- food for the lemurs (produce, chow, crickets, mealworms, peanut butter, nuts, etc); supplies for animal care (face masks, gloves, cleaning supplies);
- special equipment (radio tracking collars and walkie talkies for staff and volunteers); and
- other special initiatives, like our onsite recycling program.
Unrestricted gifts are crucial to our mission, our work, our impact, and our bottom line!

Make a special gift designated to the DLC's Madagascar Programs and contribute toward our conservation, education, research, and student opportunities in Madagascar, the only place where lemurs exist in the wild AND a biodiversity treasure of many other endemic species that exist nowhere else on Earth. Learn more about our conservation work to protect the magical flora and fauna in Madagascar!

Are you a fan of fossils? Are you fascinated by primate evolution and the research made possible thanks to our extensive fossil collection? Support the DLC’s Museum of Natural History’s preservation, digitization, education, and research programs that our rare collection of fossils makes possible!

Think of us for special gifts in your future! You don't have to be a billion dollar lottery winner to plan a special gift to the DLC (though wouldn't that be amazing?)! It's always a tremendous honor when our friends and supporters notify us that they have chosen us for a very special gift that they are planning.
