Boren sends students to countries less traveled to learn languages that are critical to U.S. national security interests. ONIF will lead a workshop to support students in getting their application essays started for a Boren Scholarship (undergraduates) or Boren Fellowship (graduate students). At this workshop, students will:
- Engage the brainstorming process for the content of their two application essays
- Learn how to research federal careers to fulfill the Boren service requirement
- Begin rough drafts for their Boren applications

WEDNESDAY, Dec. 6, vda 241, 4:30 p.m. PTGoldwater Scholarship Application Workshop
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship was created to encourage outstanding sophomores and juniors to pursue research careers in mathematics, psychology, the natural sciences, or engineering and to foster excellence in those fields. This workshop will familiarize you with the award, application process, and best practices for constructing a competitive application. Attendees will also learn how to craft a research essay based on a past or future research project. Space is limited. Learn more

Tuesday, DEC. 5, ONLINE, 11:00 A.M. pt A two-year post-graduate experience for graduating seniors to work for a select group of high-impact non-profits in either Boston, Philadelphia, or New York City. Applicants for the 2024-2026 cohort will receive robust mentorship, professional development in the public sector, extensive hands-on experience with project management, and will make a direct impact on underserved communities across several dimensions of social justice and equity. FAO Schwarz Fellows receive a yearly salary, relocation funds to move to and away from their placements, full-coverage health insurance, and a monthly subway or public transportation pass for their placement.

DEADLINE: Thursday, DEC. 7King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) will host the 11th Annual Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) Poster Competition on campus from January 13-19, 2024 for international university students pursuing a degree in STEM. Selected participants will receive a fully funded trip to KAUST where they will have the opportunity to engage with international faculty, researchers, and students while experiencing a new culture and presenting their research.
