FGNA Board is moving forward into 2024 with anticipation of a great year for the Guild and the community. There are many transitions happening this year with the members of the Board. We will say thank you to Nancy Haller, President, Eric LaSeur, Treasurer, who will leave the board and has agreed to remain the Guild Treasurer, and Fariya Doctor, Secretary. All of these valuable board volunteers will have completed their 3 terms, 9 years and will step down. In 2023 the board created an advisory committee to the board where past officers will be able to support the board during transitions or for specific topics. This committee will not have voting rights and will serve in an advisory capacity for specific purposes, at the board request.
Â
Â
The Board is looking at possibilities for improving the member benefits, more communication with the community and greater involvement with our volunteers. We hope that more of our community will step forward and become active in the many committees and activities presented. We need your input in decisions and growth as we all move into the future of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education.

Imagine how much your sense of taste can be improved with the Feldenkrais Method™ of somatic education! You will have an opportunity to experience what happens when Feldenkrais® and wine tasting meet! The intersections and commonalities that are shared and experienced with Wine Tasting and the Feldenkrais Method™ can be a rather surprising laboratory for somatic experiencing!
“Move & Sip was born. Move & Sip would include teaching an ATM™, followed by an educational wine tasting. I

There is more to walking than feet, more to learning than school, more to communication than words, and more to listening than ears. Becoming aware of how we use our whole selves in both speaking and listening can lead not only to clearer communication and better hearing, but also to surprising and delightful improvements in our relationships with ourselves, with others, with nature, and with music. For Feldenkrais® practitioners, it can revolutionize the way they teach Awareness Through Movement™. For their students, it can transform the learning environment.
Listening with Your Whole Body™ is an innovative approach to the auditory sense, based on the Feldenkrais Method™, the practice of mindfulness, ancient and modern acoustical research, the findings of neuroscience, and a life in music. It was developed by David Kaetz, a Canadian Feldenkrais teacher, musician, storyteller, and author of three books on the connections between somatic work and the inner life: Listening with Your Whole Body, Making Connections, and The Ezekiel Code.
|
***Technical Requirements:*** Because this seminar is all about listening, and high resolution musical samples will be shared, it is important that participants are bathed in a decent quality of sound, in a full range of frequencies: ideally, with external speakers connected to their computers. For obvious reasons (hidden in the title), the course can’t yield the same benefits if done with headphones, earbuds, or a smartphone speaker.

FEFNA Board has been working to refine our programs which will be promoted om the future. Each program has criteria for the focus of the program, definitions of the process to apply for the scholarships, applications to apply for scholarships, outlines of boundaries for the decision process, the letters between FEFNA applicants and the award certificates.
Â
Each program will have all of the necessary components to provide a clear and concise process for all applicants and donors. FEFNA wants to provide comfort as a viable 501c3 for both the applicant and the future donors.
Â
Â
We will be working on creating ideas to engage our community to contribute to our own foundation. FEFNA supports education, research and public awareness. For more information and to donate:
