Job Announcement 
ONIF is hiring an undergraduate student assistant! Do you have work study funds and are looking for a 10-15 hour a week committement? 
The Public Relations (PR) Manager will assist in developing and implementing campus outreach initiatives. Drawing on his/her keen awareness of ONIF’s mission and goals, the PR Manager will devise creative ways to advertise ONIF events and deadlines, using a variety of multimedia solutions. Additionally, the PR manager will assist with producing publications, printed material, and updating information on ONIF’s website.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage ONIF’s social media presence
  • Assist with producing publications and other outreach materials (including event flyers)
  • Update ONIF’s website
  • Assist the ONIF director during fellowship information sessions and workshop
  • Help schedule video and photo shoots for student spotlights
  • Other duties as assigned

Scholarships for Postgraduate Study in the UK & Ireland Info Session

March 14 at 4:30 p.m. in Von Der Ahe 241
LMU students are invited to attend an information session on the Fulbright UK/Ireland Partnership Awards, Gates Cambridge, Marshall, Mitchell, and Rhodes Scholarships- all of which fully-fund eligible graduate programs in the UK & Ireland. 

This info session will familiarize you with the different awards, application processes, and best practices for constructing competitive applications. Students of all majors are welcome and we recommend attendees have a minimum 3.5+ GPA. Register here to attend.

Where to Begin? A Fulbright U.S. Student Program Research & Creative Arts Awards Webinar

Fulbright applicants for research and creative arts awards design their own projects abroad and typically work with advisers at foreign universities or other institutes of higher education.
Eligible LMU juniors, seniors, graduate students, and alumni are invited to learn how to begin a research award application, including establishing an affiliation with a foreign university or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).  Register here to attend.

All or Multiple Disciplines 
Undergraduate Public Service Scholarship- Deadline: April 11. supports female undergraduate students who are applying to or have secured an unpaid internship in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Internships in Maryland and Virginia qualify, as long as they are near Washington, D.C. Applicants must be rising juniors, seniors, or be recent college graduates (graduated no more than 10 months from the application deadline). There is no requirement regarding the applicant’s major or focus of study, as long as the internship focus requirements are met. We anticipate accepting four applicants each year as scholarship recipients, or “scholars.” This number may be adjusted according to the volume of applications received. The financial award consists of $1,600 per month (4 weeks) for the length of the individual’s internship, and will be calculated for each accepted scholar individually. Each scholar is assigned at least one mentor to lend guidance on entering and navigating her profession and Washington. Additionally, the Foundation is happy to informally connect the scholar with others that we feel would be useful contacts outside of the assigned mentor(s), as another opportunity for networking within her chosen profession or interest. 

Freeman Awards for Study in Asia- Deadline: April 11 for Fall or Academic-Year Study. Freeman-ASIA accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent residents studying at the undergraduate level at a two-year or four-year college or university who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia

Victory Empowerment Fellowship- Deadline: March 16! The Victory Empowerment Fellowship is for LGBTQ leaders of color and/or transgender leaders who seek to expand their campaign skills and policymaking power and join a strong cohort of movement leaders from across the country. The Victory Empowerment Fellowship consists of two programs provided by the Victory Institute – the Candidate & Campaign Training and the International LGBTQ Leadership Conference – and a year-long mentorship program.


College of Communication & Fine Arts
Be Original Americas’ Summer Design Fellowship- Deadline: March 23.  This fellowship will introduce two college students to all facets of creating innovative, high-quality products through hands-on, in-the-field learning. The program will focus on different aspects of the design process from research and development to manufacturing and marketing, through the perspective of Be Original Americas member companies, supplemented by visits to their showrooms, headquarters, and factories in New York City and throughout the United States. Be Original Americas will provide travel and lodging accommodations as this program will require travel to New York City and member company sites throughout the United States. Participants can expect to incur some costs for food and incidentals. A $3,500 grant will be awarded to each student at the successful conclusion of the program. open to currently enrolled undergraduate students in their 2nd or 3rd year of study at an accredited college or university in the United States. Students currently enrolled in industrial design, interior design, architecture, and entrepreneurial programs, or who have a demonstrated interest in a career in the design industry are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be in good standing at their university (3.0 GPA or higher) and be eligible to work in the United States.    
Other Notable Opportunities
LMU's Undergraduate Library Research Award- Deadline: April 6. The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward LMU undergraduate students whose research makes expert and creative use of the services, resources, and collections of the William H. Hannon Library to produce a scholarly or creative work. For 2018, a prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the first place undergraduate project, $1,000 to the best group project, and $450 to two honorable mentions.
