Denison breaks ground on new center for data sciences
|
The sweeping transformation of Doane Hall into the new Center for Data Reasoning & Visualization has begun, thanks to the generosity of donors who have already committed more than $29 million. “This is a game-changer for the college,” said President Adam Weinberg at a formal groundbreaking for the project on Jan. 31. The new center underscores Denison’s visionary and longstanding commitment to integrating data sciences across all disciplines. Nan Carney-DeBord ’80, an innovative and energetic leader, to retire
|
Denison’s beloved athletic director announced plans to retire at the conclusion of the school year. Her 14-year tenure represents one of Big Red’s greatest athletic eras, in which she built connections, changed cultures, and put student-athletes first. Giant of jazz Dee Dee Bridgewater to keynote Denison Commencement
|
Legendary jazz vocalist, multi-talented artist, producer, and Grammy- and Tony-winning performer Dee Dee Bridgewater will deliver the keynote address at Denison’s 184th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17. As a two-time Vail Series artist, Bridgewater has developed a special connection with the college and will be recognized with the conferring of an honorary degree. Denisonians to shine at national awards gala for women
|
Two trailblazing Denison alumnae will take part in a historic night hosted by the National Women’s History Museum in Washington, D.C. on March 20. Lisa Stewart McKnight ’90 will accept the inaugural Evelyn Y. Davis Women Making History Corporate Changemaker Award on behalf of her employer, Mattel. Denison Trustee Susan Whiting ’78 serves as chair of the board of the National Women’s History Museum, and first met McKnight on The Hill at ReMix + Women last April. The two will meet again at the event, where Meryl Streep will serve as the gala's honorary chair, and CBS News award-winning journalist Norah O’Donnell will host. Since March of 2023, TruCha has served more than 10,000 cups of bubble tea and created more than 20 part-time student jobs. The owners? Students Charlie Kuchler ʼ26 and Truc Hoang ʼ26. See how the pair ended up opening shop on The Hill as first-year student entrepreneurs, thanks to some help from Denison’s Red Frame Lab.

This week-long camp offers talented high school dancers, musicians, and theatre-makers a chance to deepen their skills while collaborating with professional artists and ensembles.
