In a recent article, nutritionists agreed that one such beverage is Rooibos.
“Rooibos is an herbal tea made by fermenting its leaves, which gives it its reddish colour,” Chatfield, a registered dietitian and nutritionist explained, adding that it’s “packed with rich antioxidants found in its natural polyphenols.” These, he adds, help reduce inflammation by “fighting damaging free radicals.” Free radicals in the body cause oxidative stress, which often leads to inflammation.

| Seeing as this time of the year marks strawberry season, what better way to grab the opportunity by the horns to make an exciting new iced tea at home? We discovered a recipe for Strawberry Rooibos iced tea which looks simply delicious.
The recipe calls for you to make iced Rooibos tea in the same way as you always would, which is to brew the tea with hot water to your desired strength. Once cooled down, you will use fresh or frozen strawberries to make a simple syrup which is the twist that makes this drink one-of-a-kind.

| In today’s age, people are always on the lookout for ways to naturally boost their health. One common disease that is prevalent in society is diabetes. Various new studies have suggested that drinking Rooibos regularly can help to reduce your risk of contracting this condition.
“Good news for diabetics. Rooibos tea contains a range of antioxidants including aspalathin, which may help to reduce the risk of developing diabetes. A study by the Tea Advisory Panel revealed fasting blood glucose was more stable in the instances that Rooibos was consumed,” explained Tim Bond, an experienced UK-based chemist.
