This Sunday, January 22nd, is Confirmation Sunday! Make plans to support our Confirmands as they take their Next Faithful Step in discipleship. Since their birth, we as a church family have nurtured these children in Christ's holy church "by teaching and example guiding them to accept God's grace for themselves, to profess their faith openly, and to lead Christian lives". Now, as they move into a more adult faith and decide for themselves to make a profession of faith and become full members of the church, join us to celebrate with them and their families! There will be a brunch in the Youth Suite during the Sunday School hour for the Confirmands, their parents, and their mentors. Stop by on the way to your small group to welcome and congratulate them.
For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life. Ephesians 2:10

| -Welcome, new youth and families! We're excited about our future together and what God will do. Thank you to everyone who contributed to make our Winter Retreat such a wonderful event. We had an extraordinary time of bonding, reflecting, learning and discerning (and just plain fun). Be sure to ask one of our youth to tell you about it, and, please continue to pray for the impact of this trip.

Engage is back for a new semester, 5:30 - 7:30 pm on Sundays in the Youth Suite. All youth, new and returning, are invited to join us each week to get connected and learn about God!

Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals have Returned!
If you have never joined us for Wednesday night meal and fellowship, 2023 is a great time to start. Meal begins at 5:45 pm with activities for all ages from 6:20-7:15 pm. Tonight's menu: Spaghetti, followed by Intergenerational Table Talk, (a great way to get to know others in our church family - including our children and youth!)
Adults (13 and over):$9, Children: $5, Family Maximum: $27.
A nursery is provided.
The Camp Wesley Pines staff will join us for next Wednesday's Re:Treat Night, January 25th. Indoor games and activities will give the children and youth a small experience of the Camp Wesley Pines Summer Camp. If your child has wondered about attending Camp Wesley Pines for a week this summer, this is a great way to find out more information and explore their interest. We hope you'll join us!
We are once again requesting that you RSVP by the Sunday before so that we know how much food to prepare and are good stewards of our resources. Next Wednesday, Jean is preparing Poppy Seed Chicken, a church favorite you will not want to miss! You may RSVP via the newsletter (the Wednesday before), via the bulletin (the Sunday before), or by calling the church office by 10 am the Monday before.

Represent and Support PHUMC!
In celebration of entering 2023 debt-free and looking forward in hope to the next faithful steps at Parkway Hills, Jessica Wood has been working on a Parkway Hills t-shirt. This is a great way while we are out and about as a church to share about our church and show our love. A portion of the proceeds from each t-shirt will go toward the mission and ministry of PHUMC. We hope everyone will purchase a shirt and share the story of Parkway Hills as you wear it!

As we each consider how God is calling us to take The Next Faithful Step, some of you may feel led to help with our Children and/or Youth Ministries. Right now, we are updating our required background checks and training for our volunteers. If you are a volunteer, or if you are considering becoming a volunteer with our Children and/or Youth Ministries as your next step in discipleship this year, please join me in The Garden, (on the first floor of the Education Building), for a Volunteer Training Session through Ministry Safe. This Training Session will immediately follow the worship service on Sunday, January 29th. We'll go over the Safe Sanctuary Policies we already have in place at Parkway Hills UMC and complete an online Ministry Safe Training together. Lunch and nursery will be provided.
