Family Fright Night and Haunted Trail
Celebrate Halloween with a costume contest and spooky fun at Family Fright Night at Dakota Lodge. Then join us on the Haunted Trail for a family-friendly hike in Bradford Park. There will be a shuttle between the two locations. Volunteers (adults or kids 4th-grade or older) are still needed for the Haunted Trail. Contact Beth Beers at bethb@kcranch.org if you can help.

2018 Metro District Draft Budget Available Online for ReviewThe 2018 Draft Budget for the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District is now available for review through the link below. The Metro District Board will discuss the budget at its Oct. 24 meeting at 6 p.m. at the Ranch House. Questions or comments can be sent to Melissa Daruna at melissad@kcranch.org.

2016 Metro District Audit
The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District successfully passed the 2016 audit (linked below). However, the auditor identified some concerns and deficiencies in the District’s accounting systems. According to the audited financials, the District ended 2016 with a deficit. The District is working to create more accurate budgets, implement stronger accounting processes and project accurate financial information more regularly. Get Involved in the Community by Joining a CommitteeCommittees help the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Board and staff manage the affairs of the Master Association. The Master Association is now accepting applications for new committee members for 2018 for the following committees: Architectural, Community Planning, Covenant Control, Election, Historical Society, Open Space and Parks Advisory. Veterans Monument Receives Nationwide Attention Through Video
The American Society of Concrete Contractors and the Decorative Concrete Council created a video about the Veterans Monument at Ken-Caryl Ranch. Both of these organizations contributed money, equipment, concrete and manpower for the construction of the Veterans Monument. This video has been shown nationwide at professional meetings and conferences and is now available to all. Please click on the image above to view the video.

Nature-Based Art Classes Start This Week!
Art Ventures starts this week at Dakota Lodge. There is still time to sign up! Students will have the opportunity to explore and connect to nature and local wildlife in new ways through artistic learning and hiking. There are sessions for 4-6 year olds and for 7-12 year olds. Thanksgiving Day Gobble Wobble 5K & Fun Run“Gobble and Wobble” your way through the 3rd Annual 5k and Fun Run on the Ken-Caryl Ranch Open Space Trails. This great family run helps raise funds for Ken-Caryl Ranch environmental education programs and is an excellent way to burn some calories on Turkey Day!
