The Denver YMCA joined our fellow Colorado YMCAs at the State Capitol in January where one of our Youth in Government students, Qynton Salyer, spoke of his experience with our Youth in Government program.

In February, Interim CEO Rick Rush and Board Chair Meridith Marshall joined 400+ YMCA representatives in Washington, D.C. to advocate for legislation that supports helping youth, individuals and families meet the new realities of life in the U.S. today.

In the coming weeks, we will be transitioning to a new reservation and scheduling software that is more convenient and user-friendly for members and participants. NinjaZone is coming to the Littleton YMCA!

What is NinjaZone? It's a fusion of obstacle course training, gymnastics, martial arts and freestyle movement that gives kids the freedom to progress and learn at their own pace. Participants develop coordination, strength, agility, creativity and discipline, all while getting in lots of fun movement.

Our sense of smell plays an important role in monitoring brain health as we age. In fact, smell loss may be one of the most important signals of risk for Parkinson’s disease. A study from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) is exploring this link, which could help scientists learn and develop new treatments for brain disease.

You can help. We're calling on everyone age 60 and older without Parkinson’s to take a free scratch-and-sniff test. Your participation in this study could have a big impact on the future treatment and prevention of Parkinson’s and other brain diseases.
