Favorite program on Classical KC:
My favorite programs are the Classical Afternoons, From the Archives with Frank Byrne, and I never miss Thursday and Sunday evenings with Michael Stern and Dan Margolies for the Kansas City Symphony on Classical KC.
Favorite composer: Mozart never fails me!
What excites you about classical music? For me, it has the power to erase the world around me and leave me with profound inner joy.
What is your fondest memory of classical music in Kansas City?
By far, my greatest experience was at Helzberg Hall to celebrate the anniversaries of Beethoven (250 years), Isaac Stern (100 years) and Michael Stern in KC (15 years.) Listening to Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax and Pamela Frank perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for piano, violin, cello and orchestra conducted by Michael Stern is something I will never forget. In addition, my Harmony Project KC students were invited by Yo-Yo to watch the private rehearsal! It was their best day as well!
