SAVE the DATE for a Live OpenSpace Event with the American Museum of Natural History!

NASA@ My Library and the American Museum of Natural History are set to bring a livestream about the Webb Space Telescope to your library. What sets the Webb Space Telescope apart from other space telescopes and how will the mission extend our understanding of the Universe? Join presenters from the American Museum of Natural History on either evening for a live, virtual trip more than a million miles from Earth, to Webb’s future home in space.

Both events will be similar, so no need to attend both! Save one or both of these dates:

October 13, 2021 at 6 pm ET (3 pm PT)
October 14, 2021 at 9 pm ET (6 pm PT)

There's Still Time to Register: "Moon, Mars and Beyond" Exhibit Pre-Application Webinar


The Space Science Institute is pleased to announce a new exhibit opportunity for public libraries. 'Moon, Mars and Beyond' will launch in March 2022, traveling to 8 libraries across the country. All public and tribal libraries are welcome to apply. Please register for a pre-application webinar to learn more about this opportunity, ask questions, and meet the project team. The application will open on September 15th, and be due November 15th.

Their mission is to guide and support a broader group of educators to utilize the best of NASA’s professional learning resources integrated with culturally relevant STEM pedagogies to serve diverse student audiences by inspiring and motivating them to pursue STEM fields of study, careers, and opportunities with NASA.

The STAR Library Network (STAR Net) is a hands-on learning network for libraries and their communities across the country. STAR Net focuses on helping library professionals build their STEM skills by providing “science-technology activities and resources” (STAR) and training to use those resources.
STAR Net is built upon a strong network of collaborators and partners, led by the Space Science Institute’s (SSI) National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL). Partners include the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office, Collaborative Summer Library Program, Chief Officers of State Library Agencies, Lunar and Planetary Institute, Education Development Center, Twin Cities PBS (TPT), Institute for Learning Innovation (ILI), University of Colorado. Funding is provided by the National Science Foundation, and the NASA Science Mission Directorate.
