Mark a Milestone This past weekend, law students from across the country came together for the 30th Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. Congratulations to Emony Robertson and Jordan Greer from Howard Law School, who bested a talented field to take first. Emony also won Best Advocate. And many thanks to the judges, practitioners, and St. John's Law students and faculty who worked closely and tirelessly with the American Bankruptcy Institute to organize and run this year's Competition. We put together a special digital commemoration celebrating this milestone event through reflections shared by some of the many distinguished lawyers and judges who have participated in the Competition and witnessed firsthand how it elevates the dynamic field of bankruptcy law. Take a look!

Calling All Mock Trial Judges Alumni practitioners, are you looking for a great way to give back to St. John's Law and our fabulous students? Our Frank S. Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute (PTAI) needs volunteer judges for its Brian Peterson Memorial First-Year Trial Competition (March 18-20) and Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Trial Competition (April 1-3). Both competitions are held at the Law School. Please contact chelsea.mcgee19@my.stjohns.edu to volunteer or to learn more.
Seeing the Common Threads The other day, Danielle Harrow '24 was making a suit jacket. Stepping back and eyeing her handiwork, she knew something wasn't right. It was the buttons. They didn't fit the design. Nor did any of the other buttons she had on hand. The solution came to her like an epiphany: “I need to figure out how to create my own buttons out of resin!” That amalgam of creativity and ingenuity has been Harrow's life force for as long as she can remember. She's now harnessing that force as a 1L pursuing a career in IP Law. Read more about Danielle's journey to St. John's Law.
