Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

                                                    April 30, 2025
We give thanks for a church that so graciously supports the youth in our midst. What a great turnout for our Youth Fundraiser Cookout. After taking out expenses, we raised $1,101. These funds will aid with expenses for our summer mission trip with Appalachian Service Project as well as various youth programming throughout the year. Thank you so much for being so generous and for all the ways you support the youth at Parkway Hills. We do best the things we do together.

Baccalaureate Sunday--May 4th

Swing by the youth suite during Sunday School, between 9:30 and 10:30 am May 4 to grab some food and wish our graduates well, then join us for worship at 10:45 as we recognize our seniors!
The work to remove the dead trees at Parkway Hills has begun. Please be cautious as you enter and leave the campus and know that we may have some traffic flow issues at various stages of the work. While it is sad to lose so many of our trees, we give thanks that your giving has enabled us to handle campus needs such as this. Be dreaming of how we may beautify and revitalize our beautiful outdoor space when the work is done.
 East Flora Elementary Service Opportunities
Parkway Hills donated 30 bags of soil to East Flora Elementary School's garden. Thank you for your gifts to make this possible! East Flora will host a volunteer day at the school on this Saturday May 3rd from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. If you would like to volunteer to help with the garden, click the link to sign up.
Join us in celebrating our teachers at East Flora Elementary School! We will host an appreciation lunch at East Flora Elementary School on Thursday, May 8. We also celebrate Dr. Marsha Peoples, principal of East Flora, for being named the 2025 Mississippi Administrator of the Year.  If you would like to help with this day of appreciation, meet at PHUMC at 10:00 a.m., and we will carpool to East Flora Elementary. Our teachers have worked so hard to help the students grow throughout the year. Let's give thanks for their dedication to the kids at East Flora Elementary.
For more information or to volunteer with the lunch contact Haven Boyd.

Mission and Ministry Evening Apart

We hope to see you Wednesday, May 7 at 6:00 pm in the Garden Room for our evening apart. We will build upon the discussion from our January Day Apart and continue to dream and vision for Parkway Hills.  A light dinner will be provided and a nursery upon request.
Mark your calendar, invite a church friend to join you, and come plan and fellowship with your church family for this important and meaningful time within the life of our church.
We give thanks for all the ways Geoff Davidson has enhanced the mission and ministry of Parkway Hills and especially for all the ways he has shared life and faith with our youth. We hold him in prayer as he begins his next ministry journey. Youth families, volunteers and church friends who may wish to join, you are invited to come celebrate Geoff, Saturday, May 10 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the home of Branden and Renee Henry.  Please RSVP to Dawn by Wednesday, May 7. Bring your swimsuit and towel if you want to jump in the pool!
Can't make the Henry party? Stop by the youth room Sunday, May 11 during Sunday School for Geoff's last Sunday with Parkway Hills. Grab a doughnut, share your gratitude for his work and gifts at this place, and wish him well in his next steps.
On Our Way to Another Eagle Scout
Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Scouting America program. It is achieved by demonstrating leadership, service, and outdoor skills. Currently Parkway Hills can claim 90 Eagle Scouts from chartered Troop 164 and 4 from Troop 19.
Parkway Hills member James Pickle is currently working on his Eagle project. His plan is to build and provide picnic tables for our beautiful campus. James reached out and requested that we share his project with the church. If anyone would like to aid James with some of the cost of this project, you can reach out to his parents, Clayton or Laura Pickle. And make sure you ask James about his project next time you see him at church.
