SPRING 2018 FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE HAS BEEN POSTED
Students are asked to double-check the schedule in order to determine whether or not they have a conflict. A conflict is defined as two exams scheduled at the same time or four exams scheduled in one day. Please report any conflicts to the Principal’s Office.
As always, during final exam days, students are required to be present only during the times they have exams. It is always difficult to find alternative times to take final exams and often it has a detrimental effect on a student’s performance on the exam. Therefore, we ask families to please make every effort to schedule around final exams so that all students are present at their assigned exam times.
If you have any questions about finals scheduling please contact Shani Simonson in the Principal’s Office at ssimonson@brebeuf.org.

Loves About Brebeuf
It’s been said a million times, but what I love most about Brebeuf is the community of people that make this school what it is. People from so many different walks of life come here, and has helped shaped who I’ve become. Brebeuf pushed me to get out my comfort zone and meet new people, and I couldn’t thank the school enough. I’ve met some incredible people who are doing incredible things. I mean, what other school has student led intramural seasons, where us students can just go outside or to the gym, be social, and have fun. Brebeuf fosters this environment of inclusiveness where everyone is able to be themselves and they are respected for it, which makes the community diverse and enriching.
Favorite Class
I’ve enjoyed almost all my classes at Brebeuf, so picking just one favorite class is almost impossible. I can’t talk about all of them, so I will narrow it down to two. One of them has been AP Macroeconomics with Mr. Tague. I had been pretty excited to take the class anyways, but Mr. Tague made it so much better than I thought. He has this energy with his class where he can make graphs interesting, and he reaffirmed my hopes of entering finance and the economic world.
Another one of my favorite classes was AP Physics with Mr. Rott. Let me be real here, this class was difficult. I studied and worked harder in this class than any other, but it was worth it. Mr. Rott’s lectures are one of the coolest experiences at Brebeuf. He stands in front of the class and talks a million miles per hour, writing notes on the board, but he teaches so well, he makes difficult information make sense. The moments when he would go into the back closet and bring out some contraption that demonstrated how light or electrons travel and interact were the best. Even though I am not pursuing a career in science, Mr. Rott’s classes was still one of the most impactful classes in my time at Brebeuf.
Future Plans
Next year I will be attending the University of Notre Dame. I plan on studying Finance, and possibly minoring in Theology, Sociology, or Economics.
Teams & Co-Curriculars
Boys Golf
Four-4 Year Member of Men’s Developmental Tennis Team
SALT
Conservation Club
Student Council
National Honor Society
Nora Mentor’s Program
Random Facts
I can name most of the world’s flags. I started playing this quiz game for them in 8th grade, and the information has stuck.
What is your current favorite show or series on tv, Netflix, etc?
I’ve watched The Office about four times through, so I guess you could say I’m a big fan. Other than that, Peaky Blinders is my other favorite show. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it.
If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go and why?
This is another hard one to pick just one, so I have got to say my top two. One would be Scotland. My family is Scottish, and we are also a golf family. It would be amazing to go play some of the game’s legendary courses, like St. Andrews and Royal Troon, with my dad, grandfather, uncles, and brothers.
I would also love to go to South Africa. Ever since I was a little kid, I have watched Shark Week. I am a diehard fan, and there is always a segment from South Africa where the great white sharks leap out of the water. It is terrifying, but also so interesting and I’d love to see it in person.
In what way have you changed the most since your freshman year?
Besides my height, the thing that has most changed for me has been my worldview. Before coming to Brebeuf, I didn’t think too much about traveling or studying abroad in college. Traveling never interested me because I never had that experience where I actually explored something new, and I hated flying. However, my worldview was greatly expanded when I was able to attend the Oxbridge Spring Seminar in Oxford, England as a junior through Brebeuf. Even though its England and the culture is similar, challenging myself to get on an airplane on my own and go overseas opened me up to all the possibilities the world has to offer. This made me realize I do have a passion for getting out of my bubble and experiencing different countries and cultures. Now, as I look ahead to college, I can’t imagine not studying abroad for a month or a semester. This experience helped me grow and showed me that the world has a lot to offer, and all I need to do is grab the opportunities that present themselves.
Attention Students Taking AP Exams
Please refer to the AP exam schedule in your email, and also posted throughout the building, and contact Mrs. Davis in College Counseling as soon as possible if you have TWO AP exams on the same date and time. Thank you!

The shoes that cannot be distributed will be recycled.
Please note that Shoebox Recycling does not take all types of shoes.  The shoes that Shoebox Recycling will not accept are delivered to homeless shelters and domestic abuse shelters in Indiana by Shared Steps. Over the last three months, Nina has collected 150 pairs of shoes.  Over the last four years, Shared Steps has received over 3,500 pairs of donated shoes.
How can you help:
Nina will be leaving donation boxes in the Gym Lobby as well as the Main Lobby.  You can contact Nina with any questions at njain20@amdg.brebeuf.org.
