Kyle Bush
Cumberland Creative
Kyle is one of our newest EO Nashville members and was also in Catalyst Class 7!
Here's a bit more about Kyle:
I am Kyle Bush, and no I am not the Nascar driver.. although it'd be a lot cooler if I was. I moved to Nashville from a small town in southwest Mississippi in 2013 to attend Aquinas College's Business School.
I had no clue what I wanted to do in college until I was able to land an internship with EO's own Arnie Malham at CJ Advertising. During my summer there, I was able to help on a video shoot. I had fallen in love with video production in middle school in my skateboarding days, but once I grew out of skateboarding, I put it aside. I had no idea videography could be a real career path. I later found my way into a local video company where I did creative strategy and sales. In early 2017, I left that position to start my own firm, Cumberland Creative, with my business partner Michael. Cumberland Creative is now a twenty-three time award winning video production firm specializing in storytelling content. We shoot all over the country and get to work on very cool projects with very cool people!
I also did the Catalyst Program in 2018.
In my time away from work, I love traveling and trying new restaurants with my wife, training brazilian jiu-jitsu, hunting, and attempting to make art (big emphasis on attempting).
What is a personal piece of advice (business advice/saying/quote) that you lean on and could pass on to others?
What is meant for you will not pass you
Best business book you’ve ever read?
Rich Dad Poor Dad
One misstep you took in your business that you could caution others about?
Taking on too much. Trying to do my job as CEO and manage the build out and design of our new HQ from head to toe, hands on, had me dropping important balls in my normal everyday role.
(Photo of new HQ is above)!
How to you de-stress after a particularly hard day?
I find a lot of stress relief training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at Artista BJJ, also in my workouts!
What’s something about you that would surprise everyone reading this?
Most folks reading this don't know me, so nothing would surprise them, but I once had a poem published! That's my best try! :)
What part of EO are you most looking forward to?
Connecting with like minded people and building a community of motivated positive people to surround myself with.
Any exciting plans for 2022?
We are really excited to be in our HQ and continue to host events here and be a home for the creative community in Nashville. We are also stoked to be working with some big new clients and to chase our revenue goals!
