Radford University Human Resources will host the annual Employee Benefits Fair on Friday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Muse Hall Banquet Room on the main campus in Radford. The fair will feature a variety of vendors and informational exhibits.
In addition to providing information about next year’s benefits, flu shots will be available at the fair for all employees. Employees must present their COVA health insurance cards to receive a flu shot at no cost. Those not covered by a state health plan will be able to participate on a “self-pay” basis.

The 2023 Wicked Festival will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Kyle Hall 340 on the main campus in Radford.
The festival is an interdisciplinary showcase of student problem-solving hosted by the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences. This fall, under the guidance of 13 faculty members from colleges across campus, almost 500 students will be presenting their solutions to complex public problems. All faculty and staff are invited to have conversations about important problems and how to solve them.

2023 Classroom to Career Cybersecurity Summit |

Radford University and the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center are partnering to host the 2023 Classroom to Career Cybersecurity Summit on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, One Partnership Circle in Abingdon, Virginia.
The objective of the summit is to strengthen coordination among regional businesses, K-12 schools, local governments and workforce development agencies to improve outcomes for rural students and build regional capacity for economic development by creating career pathways aligned to high-skill, high-wage or in-demand jobs.
The summit is made possible through a U.S. Department of Education Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development (RPED) grant.

Submit to present at Winter CARD |

The 5th Annual Winter Creative Activities and Research Days, or Winter CARD, will be held Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 29-30. Winter CARD represents multiple events for students to disseminate knowledge gained while collaborating with faculty mentors and present original projects, posters and creative works during the last week of the fall semester.
Registration for Winter CARD is open through Wednesday, Nov. 1. The title and author information is all that is needed to reserve a spot. Posters must be submitted for printing by Sunday, Nov. 12. Oral presentations will take place all day on Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the Ross Gallery of McConnell Library and Thursday, Nov. 30, in the lobbies of Reed and Curie Halls and the Center for the Sciences.

Call for videos: National First Gen Day |

Please help us affirm, uplift and support first gen students at Radford University! Students will be invited to participate in a special event on Wednesday, Nov. 8, and we need your words to make it happen.
You are invited to submit a video message celebrating first-gen Highlanders. Videos will be compiled and put on loop (not publicly) during the program. Feel free to use your phone – this does not need to be production quality.

The current leave reporting year will end on Jan. 9, 2024. Radford University Human Resources would like to remind employees that it is important for all employees to review leave balances and, in collaboration with supervisors, plan the utilization of balances more than the maximum allowable annual carry-over amounts.
