Congratulations CSUDH Dance Team!
CSUDH celebrated its Dance Team on April 27, after they completed an incredible feat this past month in Florida. They have won the 2023 National Dance Alliance (NDA) Division II Spirit Rally National Championship! The team also won multiple other awards at the annual NDA competition -- in only their second year attending the event!

East Coast Alumni Mixers
CSUDH President Parham and Alumni staff visited Washington D.C. and New York to meet alumni and provide updates on campus accomplishments. We had a great time and look forward to returning next year.

Toro Day
Alumni staff and volunteers welcomed prospective and admitted students during Toro Day on Saturday, April 8. Students learned about opportunites provided by the Alumni office, such as scholarships and mentoring, in addition to the benefits of becoming alumni after graduation.

Alumni Spring Regional Reception Alumni were invited to a well-loved venue for our first off-campus reception since the pandemic. The LA Dodgers welcomed us to their Gold Glove Bar for an exclusive alumni reception, which included the opportunity to pitch in the Dodgers' bullpen. The Dodgers provided a special panel discussion hosted by historian Mark Langill and Dodger alumnus Ken Landreaux. CSUDH will be back at Dodger Stadium on August 31, 2023. Fundraising Spotlight
Kicking off the start of this year, the Athletics Department held its annual alumni dinner for the CSUDH Softball team. The celebration highlighted a strong community between current and past players and raised $12,000 through donations and pledges for the Softball Annual Alumni Scholarship.

Nico Payne (BA ‘13) joined the ABC30 Action News team in Fresno, Calif. Previously, Payne spent two years as a reporter and weekend weather anchor in Palm Springs. Payne began his career in Los Angeles, where he spent five years being mentored by some of the best in the broadcast industry. He started his on-camera journey as a weekday reporter and weekend anchor at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona.

Katrina Manning (BS ‘10 / MPA '17) was named a Women of Influence in the field of health care by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Manning works for Blue Shield Promise Health Plan as community engagement manager, responsible for managing and investing in the strategic process to engage communities to achieve sustainable outcomes, goals and relationships. Manning also serves as a councilwoman for the city of Hawthorne.

Bobbi Noel (aka Roberta Noel-Harrington) (MA ’79) passed away on March 7, 2023. Born in Long Beach, Calif., she worked as a teacher for second grade English language learners. In 1992, she moved to Guerneville, Calif., and shared her teaching gifts in the local school districts, teaching ESL, coordinating a homeschool program, running an after-school program, and working as a substitute classroom teacher. She retired in 2004. From 1999 to 2009, Noel and her family managed the Riverlane Resort in Guerneville, building life-long friendships with many of the regular guests.
