From the Chair

This spring, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that students are largely absent from campus, and the Clemson University educational experience is now online. In addition, spring storms spawned an EF3 tornado in nearby Seneca, leaving miles of landscape littered with fallen trees and many without power.
Throughout these adversities I have been inspired and uplifted by the outpouring of concern and support from the Clemson Family. My son and I worked with an early response team to clear trees and debris after the storm, while researchers in the department and across campus teamed up to develop improved testing for COVID-19. Thus, each of us has a part to play in helping everyone stay healthy and get through these challenging times.
In the days ahead, I wish you continued health and hope that you take a moment to go outside and appreciate a beautiful spring day.
