New Clinical Report Published by the American Academy of Pediatrics
Dr. Joel Brenner (pictured center below), medical director of CHKD’s Sports Medicine program, is the co-author of a new clinical report published by the American Academy of Pediatrics that examines the reasons why 70 percent of youth quit playing organized sports by the time they are 13. The report outlines important recommendations for parents, coaches, and clinicians to help young athletes avoid overtraining, overuse injuries, and burnout.
Since the report was published online, it has been cited at least 194 times in online or print media outlets, more than 200 times on TV, on 35 radio programs and on four podcasts.
