You were recently invited to participate in a survey surrounding a proposed improvement plan to our Ranch House facility. This valuable feedback will be used to shape the final details of a proposal.
The next step in the process is for the Long-Range Planning Committee to discuss the overall plan in light of the survey results.

Employee Spotlight: Rachel |
|
|
Employee Spotlight: Want to get to know the Ranch House team better? Check out the Employee Spotlight each week, which will feature a different employee.
Rachel Kelmanson, Front Desk
Rachel works full-time at the Ranch House front desk and has been here for over three years! She was born in the UK. More than 6 years ago, Rachel came to visit family who live in Carbondale, and never went home! She fell in love with being in the mountains, loves the outdoors, the hiking trails, and the sunshine. Rachel especially enjoys hiking to alpine lakes, her favorite is the Thomas Lakes hike.
Rachel has two dogs named Obi and Rand. Rand is a Corgi, and Obi is a mix – Rachel calls him a mini retriever. She has a boyfriend named Kevin, who shares her love for the outdoors. Rachel has a twin sister, named Jess, a free spirit who is currently traveling, and in Costa Rica at the moment.
Rachel likes to be healthy and make nutritious food. She has been a vegan for 8 years and is always eating vegetables! She is also a yoga teacher, typically teaching vinyasa flow at White Horse Yoga in Carbondale, and sometimes at the Ranch House. Rachel loves the way teaching and practicing yoga make her feel.
Rachel enjoys summer far more than winter, but she likes to ski on bluebird days, and has an Epic pass. She likes country music and wants to learn to line dance!
Rachel likes working at the Ranch House because, “it is a nice environment to work in, interact with all the homeowners, and everyone is nice.”
Rachel would love to have a family one day. She is a favorite among the RVR kids! She’d also like to experience different cultures and ways of life – South America is top on her list.
Say hello to Rachel next time you’re at the Ranch House!

Did You Know? | Winter Watering |
|
|
Did you know that watering trees in Colorado during the winter is crucial for their survival and overall health? The state's dry climate and low winter precipitation can lead to soil moisture depletion, posing a significant risk to trees. Adequate watering helps to maintain the tree's root system, ensuring it can withstand winter stress and resist diseases and pests. Additionally, hydrated trees are more likely to bloom and flourish when spring arrives, contributing to the aesthetics and biodiversity of the region.

Colorado’s vibrant leaf-peeping season is in full swing. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) encourages park visitors to protect our natural resources while enjoying them. You can contribute positively to nature conservation by respecting our outdoor shared spaces. CPW recommends having a backup plan if your desired trailhead, park, or location is crowded or closed. Parking in designated areas is critical since undesignated parking can destroy vegetation. Once on the trail, shortcuts and that perfect photograph can be tempting, but staying on the path will protect trailside plants and local wildlife. So enjoy this beautiful fall color and please respect our natural resources, park staff, volunteers and fellow recreationists out searching for Colorado gold.

| Drive Safely | Watch For Children |
It is getting dark earlier and many kids ride their bikes home from sports in the late afternoon/evening. We ask that homeowners please stay alert and watch for children traveling in the neighborhood.
The posted speed limit throughout RVR is 20 mph. Please help keep our kids safe and do not exceed 20 mph at any time while driving in RVR.
|
|
|
E- bikes are popular with many ages, young and old. We have received comments of riders speeding on their E-Bikes throughout the neighborhood (including children).
A few kind reminders:
|
- Wearing a helmet is always a good idea!
- Please exercise caution and follow the rules of the road.
- Remember to keep your speed in check and always follow the posted speed limit.
|
| Take a moment to share this information with your children as well! |
