We are approaching the time of year when many of you will want to begin installing deer fencing to protect your valuable landscaping, trees, shrubs, and flowers. We are already hearing reports of deer in the area. Homeowners may install deer fencing beginning Sunday, Oct 1 instead of the typical October 15 date noted in the Fourth Amendment.
To read more about deer fencing guidelines, see section 6.58.1 of the Design Guidelines.
The Town of Carbondale is partnering with Clean Energy Economy for the Region (CLEER) to launch a Home Energy Score pilot program by offering 100 free home energy assessments. The home visit takes about an hour. The Home Energy Score is a US Dept of Energy rating system that helps residents better understand their home's energy use and how to save energy. Each assessment will rate a home on a one-to-ten scale (10 being the most efficient). The homeowner will then get a report with recommendations that include cost-effective measures on how they can improve their home’s efficiency. To sign up, call CLEER at 970-704-9200, ext. 2.
